ISS ESG E&S Disclosure QualityScore
E&S Disclosure QualityScore is a data-driven scoring and screening solution designed to measure and identify areas of environmental and social risk through company disclosure. Scores provide an indication of relative sustainability disclosure practices compared to industry peers and are supported by factor-level data that is critical to the research process. A decile rank of 1 indicates a high level of disclosure, while a decile rank of 10 indicates little to no disclosure on the particular topic.
With global benchmarking across all 24 four-digit GICS industry groups, E&S QualityScore represents a data-driven approach to measuring the quality of corporate disclosures on environmental and social issues, including sustainability governance, and to identify key disclosure omissions. Expectations regarding disclosure practices are defined by industry groupings based on the specific environmental and social risks identified in industry and multi-stakeholder initiatives and reflected in authoritative standards and recommendations from groups such as the Global Reporting Initiative, the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
